Aberdeen Hires ETF Strategy Head to Accelerate European Expansion

Aberdeen Investments has appointed Caroline Hertrich as head of UK and EMEA ETF strategy, a newly created role aimed at expanding its European ETF business. Hertrich joins from Bloomberg, where she led index sales to UK and Ireland buy-side clients, and previously held senior roles at FTSE Russell and BlackRock. Aberdeen entered Europe’s ETF market in 2023 and currently manages three locally listed ETFs with combined assets of $126.7 million, compared with $21 billion in its U.S. ETF business. The firm sees growing European demand, particularly for active ETFs, and expects Hertrich to lead commercial growth and help translate its U.S. experience into a broader regional presence.
