Chinese regulators outlined plans on October 19 to introduce an ETF tracking the Beijing Stock Exchange's BSE 50 Index as part of broader measures to improve market liquidity and attract long-term investment. The proposed product would provide exchange-traded exposure to smaller, innovation-focused companies listed on the Beijing Stock Exchange, expanding ETF access beyond the country's larger Shanghai and Shenzhen markets. The initiative follows China's recent approval of its first 18 actively managed ETFs, reflecting continued efforts to diversify domestic investment products. No issuer, ticker or launch timetable has been confirmed, and the proposed BSE 50 ETF should not yet be counted as an approved or operating fund.
