Elston Launches Commonwealth Equity Indices, Seeks ETF Partners

London-based Elston Consulting has unveiled the Elston Commonwealth Index family, introducing four equity benchmarks tracking publicly listed companies across the Commonwealth's 56 member countries. The range includes the Commonwealth 100 (C100) and Commonwealth 500 (C500), weighted by market capitalization, alongside equal-weighted versions (C100EW and C500EW). The indices combine companies from developed and emerging markets, with significant representation from Canada, the UK, India, Australia, Singapore and South Africa. Elston identifies the C100EW as its preferred candidate for future investment products, citing stronger historical risk-adjusted returns. The firm is seeking partnerships with fund providers to develop index-tracking products, potentially opening the door to Commonwealth-focused ETFs. No fund launch has been confirmed.
