Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEX) has launched two thematic benchmarks, the HKEX Artificial Intelligence Index and HKEX Semiconductor Index, expanding its proprietary index offering. The AI index tracks 40 Hong Kong-listed companies across chip design, data centers, AI infrastructure, models, software and physical applications. Constituents are selected and weighted using a fundamentals-based approach emphasizing AI research spending and capital investment. The Semiconductor Index covers the 30 largest Hong Kong-listed semiconductor-related companies, spanning manufacturing, equipment, electronic components, computing hardware and storage.
