SEB Appoints Issa Sener as Head of Derivatives and ETF Sales

Nordic financial services group SEB has appointed Issa Sener as Head of Derivatives and ETF Sales, expanding his responsibilities to oversee ETF and derivatives distribution within the bank’s trading division. Based in Stockholm, Sener brings more than 25 years of experience in trading and equity derivatives sales, including previous roles at Handelsbanken Capital Markets and Nordea Markets. The appointment comes as ETF adoption accelerates across the Nordic region, traditionally dominated by mutual funds. Regional platforms are also expanding their ETF offerings, with Nordnet recently registering its own ETF platform ahead of planned launches in five European markets in early 2027. Nordnet reported that customer investments in ETFs grew faster than traditional funds in both percentage and absolute terms in 2025, highlighting a broader shift in Nordic investment preferences.
