ProShares has filed for Bitcoin High Income and Gold High Income ETFs built around short-dated covered-call strategies. The funds will combine long exposure to bitcoin or gold with out-of-the-money call options expiring in one week or less, seeking option income while retaining underlying asset exposure. The Bitcoin fund will not hold bitcoin directly, instead using ETPs and derivatives. Both may use options, futures, swaps and Cayman subsidiaries. Monthly distributions will target call-premium income, subject to a minimum 6% annualized yield.
