Franklin Templeton Plans China Technology UCITS ETF With ChinaAMC

Franklin Templeton has registered the Franklin ChinaAMC Technology UCITS ETF under its Irish ICAV, signaling plans to expand its partnership with China's largest ETF issuer into Europe. The proposed fund remains at the registration stage, with no launch date or detailed investment strategy disclosed. The move follows the partners' launch of two co-branded ETFs in Hong Kong in September 2026, marking Franklin Templeton's first ETF listings in Asia, and a memorandum of understanding to develop additional products. ChinaAMC manages approximately $132 billion in ETF assets in mainland China, providing local expertise to support Franklin Templeton's expansion into specialized Chinese investment strategies. The initiative comes as European issuers deepen their China exposure, with HSBC launching a China robotics ETF and VanEck introducing a pure-play China semiconductor ETF this week.
