London-based investment boutique JO Hambro Capital Management plans to enter the active ETF market, initially launching products in the United States before expanding into Europe, CEO Bill Street told German publication Fonds Professionell. The firm, which managed £16.5 billion in assets as of September, sees ETFs as both a defensive response to changing investor preferences and an opportunity to expand distribution. Street highlighted the growing demand for actively managed ETFs and the flexibility of the structure compared with traditional mutual funds. JO Hambro aims to double its assets under management as part of its broader growth strategy. The plans come amid accelerating active ETF adoption in Europe, where Morningstar recorded 118 new active ETF launches during the first nine months of 2026, with year-to-date inflows already exceeding the full-year 2025 total. No specific funds or launch dates have been announced.
