Northern Trust Asset Management has filed for the Northern Trust MSCI US 2000 ETF, which is expected to receive the assets of the existing Small Cap Index Fund through a planned reorganization on February 26, 2027. The passive ETF will track the MSCI US 2000 Index, targeting U.S. companies ranked 1,001 through 3,000 by full issuer market capitalization. It will invest at least 80% of assets in index securities and related futures, generally using full replication while allowing optimization to manage tracking error, taxes and trading costs. As of July 31, 2026, the index held 1,981 stocks with market capitalizations ranging from about $7.7 million to $9.3 billion.
