Nordic online broker Nordnet is preparing to enter the European ETF market, filing five UCITS ETFs covering technology, global equities, emerging markets and US-focused strategies with Ireland’s regulator. The products are expected to launch on Nordnet’s own platform, with Carne Group serving as management company. Nordnet already offers proprietary mutual funds but has not previously operated a dedicated ETF range. With about 2.5 million active clients and €130bn in assets across Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland, its move highlights a broader European trend of brokers developing own-brand funds to deepen client relationships and capture more investment-product revenue.
