John Hancock Files for Active ETF Targeting Undervalued Mid-Cap Stocks

John Hancock Investment Management has filed for the John Hancock Disciplined Value Mid Cap Select ETF (JDVM), an actively managed strategy investing at least 80% of net assets in value equities within the Russell Midcap Value Index’s market-cap range. The manager combines fundamental and quantitative research to identify undervalued companies, assessing valuation ratios, dividend yields, management quality and cash flow. Eligible investments include common stocks, REITs, ADRs and master limited partnerships. The fund may also participate in IPOs, lend securities to generate additional income and invest up to 15% of net assets in illiquid securities. It would be non-diversified, allowing greater exposure to individual issuers.
