iShares Adds AI Data Centers to IDGT’s Infrastructure Index

iShares has updated the underlying index methodology for the iShares U.S. Digital Infrastructure and Real Estate ETF (IDGT) to explicitly include Artificial Intelligence Data Centers. Effective September 21, AI data centers, as classified by the FactSet Revere Business Industry Classification System, are now included as a Tier 1b sub-industry in the S&P Data Center, Tower REIT and Communications Equipment Index. The change expands IDGT’s index framework to formally recognize AI-focused data center businesses alongside its existing digital infrastructure exposure, reflecting the growing role of AI computing infrastructure within the data center market.
