Gadsden has filed for The New Africa Critical Minerals ETF (AFCM), which would track the Africa Critical Minerals Index, targeting companies extracting, recycling, processing or refining minerals on the continent. Eligible companies must derive at least 50% of revenue from these activities, hold qualifying African reserves if not yet generating revenue, or generate at least $1 billion annually from African critical minerals operations. The universe includes companies listed on major Western exchanges, offering exposure through global miners as well as specialist operators. The index rebalances quarterly, applies company weighting limits and caps exposure attributed to any single African country at 35%. It also screens for sanctions, certain state-owned enterprise ties and specified corruption convictions. The fund would invest at least 80% of net assets in companies economically tied to Africa’s critical minerals.
