Northern Trust Asset Management has filed for the Northern Trust MSCI US 400 ETF, which is expected to receive the assets of the Mid Cap Index Fund through a planned reorganization on February 26, 2027. The passive strategy will track the MSCI US 400 Index, covering U.S. companies ranked 501 through 900 by full issuer market capitalization. The ETF will invest at least 80% of assets in index securities and related futures, generally using replication while allowing optimization to manage implementation costs and tracking error. As of July 31, 2026, the index held 400 stocks with market capitalizations ranging from roughly $556 million to $28.66 billion.
