Middlefield Launches Global Bond ETF with Long-Short Flexibility

Middlefield has launched the Middlefield Alternative Global Fixed Income Fund in an ETF series (MAGF) on the Toronto Stock Exchange, alongside mutual fund series. Managed by head of fixed income Alexandre Cousineau, the active fund invests across global bond markets without following a benchmark. It seeks income and risk-adjusted returns while emphasizing capital preservation. The strategy may take long and short credit positions, use derivatives and leverage, and adjust its interest-rate exposure as market conditions change. That flexibility gives MAGF a different risk profile from a conventional bond index ETF. A limited-time Founders Series carries a 0.25% management fee; the announcement does not specify that this fee applies to the ETF series.
