MFS to Convert Core Bond Mutual Fund Into Active ETF in March 2027

MFS plans to convert the MFS Core Bond Fund into the newly created MFS Active Core Bond ETF through a tax-free reorganization expected to close around March 22, 2027. The ETF will be managed in a substantially similar manner to the existing fund, while MFS expects lower net expenses, greater trading flexibility, increased holdings transparency and potential tax-efficiency benefits. Shareholder approval is not required, but investors must hold shares through a brokerage account capable of receiving ETF shares to participate in the conversion. The fund will stop accepting purchase, exchange and redemption orders after March 17, 2027, while Class R1, R2 and R4 shares will close to new investors from October 1, 2026.
