MerQube Debuts Sector-Balanced South Africa Top 30 Index

MerQube has launched the South Africa Top 30 Index in partnership with Oribi Capital Partners and Prescient, with the benchmark underpinning the Oribi South Africa Top 30 Prescient ETF. The index selects the 10 largest JSE-listed companies from each of three sectors—Resources, Financials and Diversified—and gives each sector equal weighting to reduce concentration risk found in traditional market-cap benchmarks. MerQube says the rules-based approach offers broader exposure to the South African economy while marking the start of its expansion into emerging market index solutions.
