Hedgeye to Liquidate 130/30 Equity ETF (HELS) Less Than a Year After Launch

Hedgeye Asset Management plans to liquidate the Hedgeye 130/30 Equity ETF (HELS), less than a year after its December 11, 2025, launch. According to an October 9 filing, the fund's board approved the closure due to ongoing operating costs and the adviser's decision to stop subsidizing expenses. HELS will cease trading on NYSE Arca and stop accepting creation orders after October 20, with liquidation expected around October 26. During the wind-down period, the fund may increase its cash holdings and deviate from its investment strategy. Remaining shareholders will receive cash distributions representing their investment value after liabilities and liquidation expenses, potentially triggering taxable events. The closure comes alongside the planned liquidation of the Hedgeye Index Adds ETF (ADDS), bringing the adviser's announced ETF closures to two.
