Harvest Global Investments has launched the Harvest STAR Chip ETF (3559 HKD / 41559 USD) on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, offering investors exposure to China's semiconductor industry across the full chip value chain. The fund uses a master-feeder structure, investing at least 90% of its assets in the Shanghai-listed Harvest SSE STAR Chip ETF (588200), which tracks the SSE STAR Chip Index. The benchmark holds up to 50 companies spanning chip design, manufacturing, semiconductor equipment, materials, packaging, and testing, with individual constituent weights capped at 10% during quarterly reviews. Major index constituents include Cambricon, AMEC, Montage Technology, SMIC, and Hygon Information Technology. The launch expands cross-border access to China's STAR Market semiconductor companies as AI computing demand and domestic chip production drive investment across the industry.
