Hang Seng Launches AI ETF Focused on Hong Kong-Listed Stocks

Hang Seng Investment has launched the Hang Seng AI Advancement ETF, described as Hong Kong’s first AI-themed ETF investing exclusively in Hong Kong-listed equities. The fund tracks the Hang Seng Artificial Intelligence Theme Index, covering AI infrastructure such as semiconductors, applications including large language models, and physical AI such as robotics and autonomous driving. The index rebalances quarterly and includes a fast-entry mechanism allowing eligible major IPOs to join as early as their 11th trading day, subject to size and other criteria. Hang Seng says the index has relatively low overlap with the Hang Seng Tech Index, potentially reducing concentration in large internet names. Units will launch at HKD7, trading in lots of 50. The management fee is up to 0.55%, with an estimated annual expense ratio of 0.75%.
