Goldman Sachs Hires Alex Evangeli From Virtu for Bond ETF Trading

Goldman Sachs has appointed Alex Evangeli as an executive director in fixed income ETF trading, expanding its presence in Europe-listed bond ETFs. Based in London, Evangeli joins after more than six years at Virtu Financial, where he founded and led the European fixed income trading business before moving to New York to trade and oversee trading technology development for its ETF block business. He previously held ETF trading roles at Brownstone Investment Group and Cantor Fitzgerald, having started his career at UBS in 2007. The appointment brings experience in both bond ETF trading and execution technology as ETFs help shift fixed income markets toward more electronic and transparent trading. Evangeli has also written about bond ETF valuation, liquidity and execution, including the importance of the underlying bond trading business in shaping ETF quotes.
