DWS Plans Shift From U.S. Minimum Volatility to Small and Mid Caps

DWS plans to overhaul its Xtrackers MSCI USA Minimum Volatility UCITS ETF, replacing its low-volatility U.S. large- and mid-cap strategy with exposure to smaller companies. Subject to shareholder approval, the fund will switch to the S&P 1000 Index from November 16 and be renamed the Xtrackers S&P 1000 UCITS ETF. The new benchmark combines the S&P MidCap 400 and S&P SmallCap 600, removing the minimum-volatility focus that has defined the fund since its 2016 launch. Existing investors would therefore see a substantial change in exposure, moving from a volatility-screened portfolio to a broad U.S. mid- and small-cap allocation. The total expense ratio will remain at 0.20%, while physical replication and income distributions will continue. Separately, DWS is planning to move its emerging markets climate transition ETF from passive management to an active strategy.
