Dimensional Fund Advisors has launched the DFA Intermediate Government Fixed Income Portfolio ETF Class (DFGV), an actively managed ETF offering exposure to high-quality government bonds with intermediate maturities. The fund primarily invests in non-callable U.S. Treasury and government agency securities, alongside AAA-rated foreign sovereign debt and supranational bonds. DFGV generally targets securities with maturities of five to 15 years, maintaining a weighted average effective maturity of three to ten years. At least 80% of its net assets are allocated to government fixed income securities, while its duration is managed with reference to the Bloomberg U.S. Government Bond Index. Unlike passive government bond ETFs, DFGV does not track an index and may use Treasury futures and options to adjust market exposure. The fund excludes callable mortgage-backed securities and does not adjust portfolio maturity in anticipation of interest rate movements.
