BMO Asset Management has launched the BMO Asset-Backed Securities ETF, offering CAD (ZABS), currency-hedged (ZABS.F) and USD (ZABS.U) units on the Toronto Stock Exchange. The ETF seeks to generate income while preserving capital by investing primarily in a diversified portfolio of asset-backed securities. Its mandate can include consumer and commercial ABS, collateralized loan obligations (CLOs), and commercial and residential mortgage-backed securities. The hedged units use derivatives to reduce foreign currency exposure.
