Canadian digital asset investment manager 3iQ has received in-principle approval for a Category 4 license from the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), advancing its plans to establish a regulated presence in the United Arab Emirates. The approval, granted to its sister company 3iQ Middle East Ltd, follows a strategic partnership with UAE-based Further Asset Management to provide institutional investors with digital asset exposure through 3iQ's Managed Account Platform (QMAP), which attracted $100 million in sovereign-linked seed capital. Led regionally by Rachel Pether, 3iQ's Middle East expansion forms part of its broader strategy to establish regulated operations in major global digital asset hubs. The approval remains preliminary, with full authorization subject to completing the regulatory licensing process.
