William Blair Investment Management has completed the conversion of its William Blair Emerging Markets Debt Mutual Fund into the actively managed William Blair Emerging Income ETF (WINC), expected to begin trading on the NYSE. The fund retains its predecessor’s investment strategy and performance history dating back to May 2021, while offering lower expenses, potential tax efficiency and greater transparency. WINC seeks income and total return by investing across sovereign and corporate debt, currencies and interest rates in more than 90 emerging markets. Managed by a 12-person team led by Marcelo Assalin, the ETF uses an active, research-driven approach to identify risk-adjusted yield opportunities. WINC becomes William Blair’s third active ETF and first fixed income ETF, following last week’s launches of the William Blair Emerging Markets Equity ETF (WBEM) and William Blair International Equity ETF (WBIE).
