Korea Exchange Opens Extended Trading, ETFs Remain Excluded
The Korea Exchange has launched its new after-hours market, extending real-time trading from 4 p.m.
The London Stock Exchange plans to introduce overnight trading for exchange-traded products in the first half of 2027, operating from 5pm to 7:50am with a short maintenance pause. According to reports, ETPs are being prioritized because they are simpler to support outside standard market hours than individual stocks. The initiative aims to meet growing demand from global retail investors—particularly in Asia—for more flexible trading and access to UK- and globally listed products. The move aligns the LSE with other major exchanges expanding trading hours and increases competition with blockchain-based tokenized assets that promote 24/7 trading.
