Haitong Launches ETF Targeting Energy, Defence and Strategic Metals

Haitong International Asset Management has launched the Guotai Haitong Global Strategic Resources ETF, trading in HKD (3197), RMB (83197) and USD (9197). The fund tracks the CCX Global Strategic Resources Index, covering energy, defence, precious metals and strategic metals. Its 40-stock benchmark selects 15 Hong Kong-listed companies eligible for Southbound Stock Connect and 25 U.S.-listed securities, allocating 62% and 38% to the two markets respectively. Holdings are weighted by free-float market capitalisation, capped individually at 10% and reviewed quarterly. U.S. candidates on specified Chinese sanctions or restrictive lists are excluded. The ETF primarily uses full physical replication but may adopt representative sampling. The annual management fee is 0.90%, with estimated ongoing charges of 1.20%. Units trade in lots of 100, while discretionary distributions are paid in HKD and may come from capital.
