Franklin Templeton Launches Putnam’s First Active ETF in Europe

Franklin Templeton has launched the Franklin Putnam Focused US Research UCITS ETF, marking Putnam Investments’ first actively managed ETF in the UK and Europe. The fund debuted on Deutsche Börse Xetra on October 14, with listings on the London Stock Exchange and Borsa Italiana scheduled for October 15. It invests in a concentrated portfolio of 30 to 45 high-conviction US stocks selected through fundamental research, with risk management designed to limit unintended factor and style exposures. The ETF is managed by a five-member team led by Kate Lakin and draws on Putnam’s established US Research Strategy, which reportedly outperformed the S&P 500 in seven of the past eight years. The launch expands Franklin Templeton’s European active ETF offering and brings its US equity research capabilities to the UCITS ETF market.
