Forge First Asset Management, a subsidiary of CI Global Asset Management (CI GAM), has launched ETF series of two existing liquid alternative funds on the Toronto Stock Exchange. The CI Forge First Conservative Alternative Fund (CCAF/CCAF.U) targets consistent risk-adjusted returns with low correlation to North American equity and credit markets, while the CI Forge First Long Short Alternative Fund (CLSF/CLSF.U) seeks positive returns regardless of market direction. Both strategies employ equity long/short positions, pairs trading, arbitrage, thematic investing and derivatives, with exposure primarily to North American equities, fixed income, ETFs and listed options. The new ETF series trade in Canadian dollars and U.S. dollar-hedged versions. The launch expands CI GAM's alternative ETF offering, bringing its broader ETF lineup to 128 funds with approximately C$39 billion in assets under management.
