First Trust has announced plans to rename the First Trust Horizon Managed Volatility Domestic ETF (HUSV) as the First Trust Active Factor Managed Volatility ETF (AFMV), effective around January 15, 2027. The fund will adopt a multi-factor quantitative investment strategy combining value, momentum, quality, and low-volatility factors, with an emphasis on reducing expected future volatility. Under the revised investment policy, at least 80% of net assets will be invested in U.S.-listed large-cap equities. Portfolio management will transition to the First Trust Investment Committee, replacing the fund's existing management arrangement and eliminating its sub-advisor. The changes will reposition the ETF around an internally managed, systematic approach to equity selection and volatility management.
