Cboe Launches Extended Trading Hours for Stock and ETF Options

Cboe Global Markets has launched extended trading sessions for options on 24 individual stocks and five ETFs on its Cboe Options Exchange (C1). The new sessions run from 7:30 a.m. to 9:25 a.m. ET before the market opens and from 4:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. ET after the close, Monday through Friday. Eligible ETFs include SPY, QQQ, IWM, GLD and XLF, alongside heavily traded stocks such as Apple, Nvidia, Tesla and Microsoft. Together, the 29 underlying securities accounted for approximately 53% of average daily U.S.-listed options volume through September 2026. The expansion allows investors to manage positions and respond to market-moving developments outside regular trading hours, with support from brokers including Fidelity, Interactive Brokers, Robinhood and Moomoo. Cboe also plans to introduce 23-hour weekday equity trading on its BZX Exchange in December, subject to industry readiness.
