BNY to Consolidate ETF Advisers and Drop Mellon Branding in 2027

BNY plans to consolidate four U.S. investment advisory businesses into a single entity, BNY Investments Corporation, effective January 1, 2027, subject to regulatory requirements. The restructuring will combine BNY Mellon ETF Investment Adviser, Insight North America, Mellon Investments Corporation, and Newton Investment Management North America under one platform overseeing approximately $1.2 trillion in assets. The new entity will organize investment capabilities across liquidity, index, fixed income, and equity strategies, while Newton Investment Management Limited will continue providing advisory support to certain funds. BNY expects existing portfolio managers, investment objectives, strategies, and management fees to remain unchanged, with no shareholder vote required. Separately, all ETFs under BNY Mellon ETF Trust and BNY Mellon ETF Trust II will drop "Mellon" from their names as part of a broader BNY Investments rebranding initiative.
